The Art of Live Jazz
Rhys Bennett is a multi-instrumentalist and a 2022 graduate of Florida State University’s jazz program, dedicated to the art of live performance. With experience spanning saxophone, piano, flute, melodica, and vocals, Rhys brings a sophisticated, soulful sound to venues, restaurants, and private events.
Rhys finds his greatest joy in the shared experience of live jazz—and brings a professional, room-aware mindset to every set. His performances are built with an artisanal feel: bespoke set lists shaped for the event, the energy, and the audience, so each night has its own voice.
Rhys’s sound blends the drive of bebop with the relaxed elegance of modern jazz. His repertoire includes Great American Songbook classics and swing standards, blues, Latin rhythms (bossa nova, samba, cumbia, and salsa), and original compositions with room for improvisation. He also enjoys reimagining modern pop and classic rock favorites in a jazz context—offering something familiar while keeping it fresh.
With a dynamic stage presence, collaborative mindset, and a distinctive musical voice, Rhys Bennett Jazz brings real energy to any venue or event. Rhys approaches every performance—whether solo or in an ensemble—with a deep love for the moment, aiming to keep the music moving and the room feeling right: intentional, welcoming, and genuinely connected.
